Osplikammen summit - A grand view from a low summit
The Rusaset mountain area is a popular hiking area in the municipality. Criss-crossing paths provide numerous ways to enjoy the mountain. The area's highest summit is at 285 meter (935 ft) elevation. Although the elevation is underwhelming the views are overwhelming with views of Ørland and the islands beyond. The hike will normally take about hour and a half.

The route

Hiking paths both from the southeast and from northwest all lead to Osplikammen. The shorters route starts from the parking lot by the gun club at Sankthansholet. Exit Fv 231 by Yrjarheim ski cottage and follow the signs to the gun club. From the parking lot cross a pedestrian bridge and follow the well-marked path.
Roundtrip is about 4 km (2.5 miles). The hike is not very challenging and most will complete the trip in less than two hours of walking. Since parts of the hike may be soggy, even after periods of little preciptation, we recommend wearing appropriate footwear.
