Summer and nesting season
The summer is is a quiet time for the birds of Ørland. You will not see a lot of migratory activity, but you will still be able to see interesting birds and enjoy the nature preserves and outdoor recreational areas. Botanically inclined folks will be able to experience many exciting plant species. Try a night-time bicycle trip to listen to rail birds and songbirds that inhabit the lush vegetation bordering the farmland.

Austråttlunden: Well developed recreational area with varied nature, exciting flora and many nesting migrating passerine birds, Eurasian woodcock and picidae birds.
Rusaset: cane forests and equisetum creates innumerable hiding spots for wading-, anatini- and picidae birds. The surrounding areas area well developed for visitors.
