Spring and migration season
Spring arrives early in Ørland. Many birds rest in the wetlands and on the farmland while they wait for the snow to melt at their nesting grounds. This is an exciting time when, along with norwegian migratory birds, uncommon species also sometimes pay us a visit.
Sites
Eidsvatnet: lake/pond rich with nutrients. Many dabbling ducks and diving ducks at this location
Kråkvågsvaet: smorgasbord for diving ducks, auks and other seabirds
Hoøya: Bird observation point of the shallow water areas in Grandefjæra nature preserve
Innstrand: Mud- and rolling rock beaches with common shelduck, seagulls and migrating duck species.
